Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign cost leader in Raleigh, NCOne of the main benefits of Invisalign, and the reason why adults and teenagers love straightening their teeth with it, is its ability to correct teeth imperfections without anyone else noticing it. Patients from all over the Raleigh area have trusted Dr. Bassiri to help them achieve that perfect smile they have always wanted by using Invisalign clear aligners, which is by far the least invasive and comfortable way to get straighter teeth.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign are like invisible braces that are made up of a set of aligners that are designed through a combination of Dr. Bassiri’s expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology to straighten your teeth. Dr. Bassiri will start your treatment by taking impressions of your teeth. These impressions are then sent off to a dental laboratory so that a unique set of aligners for the patient can be designed. Invisalign are constructed out of thermoplastic materials that are flexible and durable, but they will bend out of shape if run under extremely hot water, so do treat them with care. In addition, the plastic is comfortable enough so that you can wear them for many hours at a time. What makes this teeth straightening method unique is that the plastic is almost invisible, which means that the vast majority of people you talk with on a daily basis won’t even know they’re there.

These aligners need to be worn for at least 22 hours every day. After every fortnight, they are swapped out with the next set. These aligners work over a number of months (typically 9-15 months) by gradually moving the teeth into the desired position by making a single adjustment each time, which is targeted towards the specified teeth. This technique ensures that your teeth are comfortable as they move gradually into the correct position. Once you have completed the entire set of aligners (typically around 18-30 sets), your teeth will be completely straight.

The Advantages Of Invisalign

  • Patients across Raleigh, NC choose Invisalign thanks to the convenience of the aligners and because they don’t have to deal with unsightly and uncomfortable traditional braces.
  • Invisalign aligners are almost invisible, like dental veneers, which means no-one else will ever know you are wearing them.
  • Wearing them for 22 hours every day means you are still left with time to take them out for meals, business meetings or going out on an important date.
  • You are still able to floss and brush your teeth without the need for any additional tools.
  • The risks of staining your teeth is just about eliminated when you compare the product to metal braces, which makes keeping your teeth clean and stain free a complex task.
  • The technique is a lot more comfortable when compared to traditional braces, because the aligners are designed to gradually reposition the teeth, focusing on specific areas with each new set of aligners.
  • Invisalign aligners are easy to clean and are replaced every two weeks with a new set.

How To Care For Your Invisalign Aligners

We highly recommend you remove your aligners between meals and rinse them under warm water. Be sure to never run them under extremely hot water as your aligners may bend out of shape due to the extremely hot temperature. You can also brush your aligners using a very soft toothbrush. Be extra careful not to drop your aligners on a hard floor or step on them as they can crack or break.

About Attachments

Some patients of our dental practice in Raleigh may need to wear ridges or attachments to make sure that their teeth move into the desired position. These attachments are clear bumps made out of a composite which is the same color as enamel, which are secured directly to a tooth or teeth. These bumps on the aligners grip them so that the aligner is held in place. The ridges operate in the same way, however instead of the bump an indent is used. This technique is necessary in more complex cases to make sure that either one or more teeth move as they should.

Checkups

Here at Fusion Dental Care, we require all of our patients to make appointments for checkups with Dr. Bassiri every 6-8 weeks to ensure their teeth have moved in the way that they should. Due to the fact that the Invisalign aligners are created at the start of these procedures, appointments are required less often compared to traditional metal braces.

Comparing Invisalign to Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional braces involve metal brackets that are glued onto each tooth and then wires are threaded between each bracket. The wire is then secured with the use of rubber bands. The wires require adjusting frequently to ensure the teeth are moving the way they should. This necessitates frequent visits to the dentist and for patients who are busy, this can become extremely inconvenient. In addition, delays in the appointment schedule can also prolong how long these braces are required. Furthermore, with metal braces, most patients have brackets “pop off” their teeth due to eating chewy or hard foods. This is not a problem with Invisalign as you take your aligners out when you eat and simply put them back in when you are done.

When you choose Invisalign, you will only need to see Dr. Bassiri to receive your next set of aligners and to get checked up to ensure your teeth have moved the way they should. This particular method has become the most preferred method for a number of patients all across the 27613 area.

The Duration Of The Treatment

For the majority of patients who reside in the Raleigh, NC area, this procedure typically takes between 9 to 15 months. However, that time frame varies from one patient to the next, and Dr. Bassiri will be able to advise you properly on the duration of your own treatment plan. In most cases, the treatment with aligners takes less time when compared to traditional braces. One of the reasons is that you won’t have to see your dentists for adjustments and to ensure your teeth are still moving as often as with traditional metal braces. The aligners involve just a quick check-up to ensure the procedure is working and to receive your new set of aligners.

Finding The Right Invisalign Dentist

Not all Raleigh dentists offer Invisalign. Dentists that do offer Invisalign must undergo specialized training in order to be allowed to provide the service. Dr. Hoda Bassiri is not only one of those dentists, but is also a Preferred Provider for several years in a row now. How Can Invisalign Change Your Life?

Unlike traditional braces, the choice of using Invisalign will not impact your life in a significant way. This is due to the fact that your aligners are basically invisible, which means that they won’t impact the way your teeth appear. In addition, you can take the aligners out when you want to have a bite to eat. This is one of the main benefits of Invisalign Raleigh NC, as you can still eat what you like without the worry of food becoming lodged in your braces, or pulling the braces out of position. The ability to take your aligners out means that you can still attend those important business meetings or make a presentation without being self-conscious of the metal all over your teeth. All in all, Invisalign is one of the easiest and most effective ways to straighten teeth, along with providing you with the flexibility most patients want to lead a normal life.

Some patients have expressed concern about the effects of the aligners on their speech patterns. However, the majority of patients in North Carolina have shared that they get used to the aligners within a few days. In some cases, some patients will experience a slight lisp, but this often goes away as soon as they become accustomed to speaking while they wear them.

What Is The Average Cost of Invisalign?

Most people are surprised to learn that Invisalign is not vastly more expensive than traditional metal braces, which makes them affordable braces in Raleigh. In fact, more often than not, the cost of Invisalign treatment is around the same price as metal braces. In North Carolina, the Invisalign cost often ranges from $3,600 to $7,900, with the average being around $5,100.

Will My Insurance Cover Invisalign?

Along with “How much does Invisalign cost?”, this is one of the most common questions we get asked about Invisalign. It’s very similar to the “How much do dental implants cost?” question we get asked often. While we’d like to say that Invisalign is covered by every insurance there is, it really comes down to your individual dental insurance policy. Rest assured though that we’ll work with your insurance company to ascertain if you are covered or not.

Does Invisalign really work?

We’re happy to report that it does indeed. In fact, to date, over 1.5 million patients have been treated with Invisalign successfully. Furthermore, Invisalign was actually developed with orthodontists and has been used in dental practices around the world.
