Affordable Dentures in Raleigh NC
Many people associate dentures with elderly people, or they envision false teeth that their grandparents wear. They picture pink plastic gums with large block squares attached to them. The good news is that modern-day dentures are not like that, thanks to recent technology and your expert dental team at Fusion Dental Care.
Dentures today look natural, and they fit securely in place. Many people won’t be able to tell you are wearing dentures. The teeth are individually made and placed appropriately, which results in real looking teeth. This goes for both the shape and color.
Dentures, as well as partials, are customized to fit the contours of the patient’s mouth. This means you can rest assured they will be comfortable to wear. There is also little chance of the dentures slipping.
Partials vs Dentures
Partials are used when you have a few teeth missing, while full dentures or complete dentures are used to provide you with a full set of teeth. Both partial and full dentures look good, and they are affordable. Most dental insurances cover both partial and full dentures.
Before we order your dentures, we will examine your teeth, as well as your gums and the bone beneath them. If your teeth or some of them need to be extracted, then we will schedule you in for an appointment so you can have the procedure done. Sometimes teeth have to be extracted due to decay or damage, but we will let you know whether or not extraction is necessary. We’ll also discuss what options are available to you, in regards to tooth replacement.
When the time comes for your dentures to be fitted, we’ll take impressions of your mouth. We’ll also take a few images. This is because we want to provide you with dentures that fit properly. Once your dentures are ready, we will place them in your mouth, and we will make sure they are securely in place before you leave our office.
If you are worried about the security of your dentures, then please let us know. We can discuss implant-retained dentures, as well as partials. If you’re experiencing any issues at all with your dentures, be sure to contact us immediately.
If the issue is a titanium post in your jaw, we can fix that for you. After we do that, we will fit it with an abutment, so your dentures should just snap into place. This is a good choice for those who want to enjoy the benefits and security that dental implants provide. And contrary to popular belief, this option is actually less expensive than dentures.
Caring For Your Dentures
If you want your dentures to last longer and maintain their shape, then you need to take good care of them. Don’t worry though because we’ll explain exactly how to do this. Before you leave our office, we’ll make sure you know how to maintain your dentures.
A few things to keep in mind is to clean your dentures with products specifically designed to be used on dentures. Use cool water to rinse your dentures off or to clean them and let them dry out because if they don’t, then the dentures may change shape. It doesn’t take too long for dentures to dry out.
Make sure to not drop your dentures because they may crack or become damaged. If you do drop your dentures, then bring them to us, and we will inspect them for damage. You may not notice damage, but we will. Also, clean your dentures regularly because you don’t want bacteria to build up.
If you need new dentures, then call us. We can replace dentures that have been damaged or have aged. The sooner you contact us, the sooner we can provide you with a new set.
Is It Hard To Get A Fixed Bridge?
You can expect to make two or more appointments at our dental office in Raleigh, NC. We have to anchor your teeth, which we do by shaping them because we want to make sure the crown will fit securely. After we do that, we take an impression of your teeth. This is required because we have to create a mold.
The mold is sent to the laboratory. That is where the bridge is created. Until we get your permanent bridge back, we’ll provide you with a temporary one.
When you come back for your second visit, your permanent porcelain bridge will be measured, inspected and adjusted, as well as cemented, which will make them look natural and fit properly. The dentist may decide your teeth and tissue need to adjust to the permanent bridge; therefore she may temporarily cement the bridge. The dentist will decide when the permanent bridge should be cemented.
Make sure to visit our office if you’re interested in porcelain bridges. We can provide you with a set of teeth that will last you many years to come. If you experience any problems at all, please feel free to call us right away.
